"This piece is huge, at 6ft x 4t, and is truly stunning in its fiery depths. More of a tangential piece to the Edge of Light series, painted a week or two after, this was all about those late late skies where the sun is burning everything a deep dark red in it’s last throes. It’s my hometown with a volcanic plug of a hill sitting above the beach, yet it feels like something Tolkien or Robert Jordan wrote about." Fee Dickson Reid
