"Edge of Light I is one of the largest pieces in the series, at 5ft x 4ft. it’s one of the few pieces I reworked, something I rarely do. At the heart of the composition lies a crucial addition – a luminous flash of reflected orange on the shoreline. This subtle yet powerful detail acts as the unifying force It’s one of the least abstract in the series, with a depth enhanced by a detailed horizon, but it maintains the ambiguity inherent to this series, we are unsure if we are seeing clouds or land floating above the sea in the distance."
